In a skin casing in a box of bone alive……… Alone in my cave
I search, lighting matches as I proceed. Graffiti of blood and excrement shine on my Palaeolithic walls. Skin Casing

My formal research unfolds within the field of biomorphic organic abstraction.
I investigate the body as an instrument of experience. I excavate it to discover its connections, bonds and knots that may lead me to its vital, generative centre. The canvas is a skin that I sew, knot and wound. The tears, the wounds, are forcibly held open by clamps, stitches and ties, as on an operating table. They reveal to the investigating gaze the viscera, the Inside, the hidden and mysterious content. The erosion of the colour, archaic and primitive in the canvas, and the following and tracing of its infinite bonds, connections and their continuous intersections reveal the passage of time, which constantly weaves the organic fabric of being. In my textile sculptures, from hypertrophic sexual organs as generators, to the “In sides” of textile bas-reliefs that observe organic structure under a microscope, there is always the need for exploration, for research, for a journey into the dark depths. Bones is a work conceived during the quarantine period for the Coronavirus. The “framework”, the “box of bone”, the cage that protects our lungs, heart and part of the viscera, is under attack from the ever-feared Invisible Unknown. The struggle between life and death is underway; in almost half of the work, destruction is complete, there is no longer any form, or it is in the process of corruption, while in the other, the vitalism of the lines and forms conveys the eternal will of life to survive, life that never dies. The primitive, simplified part of the work, cords, canvas and plant-based padding, contrasts with the figurative element created by the embroidery and the subtle bas-relief. Different expressive means and techniques thus create a compositional disturbance, a dichotomy without symmetry. It is the representation, in progress and without drama, of the biological journey of death, corruption and rebirth. The erosion of the colour, archaic and primitive, the following of the infinite bonds, the connections and their continuous intersections reveal the passage of time, which constantly weaves the organic fabric of being. The passage of time, which constantly weaves the organic fabric of being, can be found in the archaic and primitive colour of the work, in following and tracing the connections, the infinite bonds and their continuous intersections.
