Great Mothers cycle
2015
400 × 350 cm
Jute canvas sewn with cords.
For I am the first and the last,
I am the one who is honoured and the one who is despised,
I am the prostitute and the holy woman,
I am the wife and the virgin,
I am the mother and the daughter,
I am the arms of my mother,
I am sterile, yet my children are many,
I am the married woman and the unmarried,
I am She who gives birth and She who has never given birth,
I am She who comforts in the pains of childbirth.
I am the bride and the groom,
And my man nourished my fertility,
I am the Mother of my father,
I am the sister of my husband,
And he is the son whom I rejected.
Always respect me,
For I am She who causes Scandal and She who Sanctifies.
