Sculpture sewn in canvas, modelled with cords. Plant-based filling. Embroidery with cotton thread. Iron base.
This work is the three-dimensional resolution and synthesis of my formal research conducted in the quadriptych. The vitalism of the lines unfolds with strong dynamism around the circular form, pregnant with projecting volumes. The very low-relief ridges and the intricate network of embroidered lines all converge towards the central opening, penetrate it, and pass beyond it in an eternal rotational movement. Only one side of the work, contained by a weave of lines-cords, marks a pause in this infinite rotation. It is the part that is undergoing decay; the matter that is disintegrating and losing its form: a pause before being once again drawn into that complex and intricate vortex.
