This work by Patrizia Trevisi represents an organic tissue and its textures. The material quality of the surface is created both through volumetric plays of light and shade and through the textures created by a gestural network of marks sewn into the canvas. The colour is worn and contributes to a strongly archaic chromatic quality with a neo-primitive character. The strongly contrasted volumes of light and shade emerge from a tangle of lines traced by the cords, which stitch together fragments of fabric, creating delicate contrasts of light and shade; the work thus acquires a strong sculptural and chromatic presence.
